middle Summer School

MS - Promotional/Intervention Program

Dates/Times:  June 2-30, 2026 / 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Sites: Bellevue MS, Craigmont MS, Havenview MS, Hickory Ridge MS, Kate Bond MS

Description:
Students in grades 6-8, who failed a required core course(s) are eligible for the promotional program.​ 

The following failed courses qualify for Summer School:
Failed Language Arts
Failed Math
Failed Language Arts and Math
Failed Language Arts and Science
Failed Language Arts and Social Studies
Failed Math and Science
Failed Math and Social Studies
Failed Science and Social Studies
Failed Language Arts, Math, and Science
Failed Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies

Students that have failed all four (4) courses are not eligible for Summer School.

​Courses Offered: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies (All students will take two (2) courses.)


Meals: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.

Transportation: Transportation will be provided from the student’s current MSCS district managed school.

Over-Age-for-Grade (OAG) Program - 5-7

Dates/Times:  June 2-30, 2026 / 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Sites: Bellevue MS, Craigmont MS, Havenview MS, Hickory Ridge MS, Kate Bond MS​

Description:
Over Age for Grade (OAG) Qualification - 
  • Student must currently be enrolled in a MSCS District Managed Traditional School in grades 5-7.  
  • Student was retained a prior School Year. 
  • Student passes this School Year. 
  • Student will take 6-8 grade Language Arts and Math in the summer. 
  • If student is successful, the student will be promoted to the next MSCS grade level (7-9) in the fall.
  • Example: 
  • Current 5th grade students will take 6th grade Language Arts and Math in Middle Summer School.
  • Current 6th grade students will take 7th grade Language Arts and Math in Middle Summer School.
  • Current 7th grade student will take 8th grade Language Arts and Math in Middle Summer School.

Courses Offered: Language Arts and Math (All students will take two (2) courses.)
