2024 High school summer school CEREMONY
Summer High School Seniors, Parents and Guardians:
We are happy to celebrate your child successfully completing the summer program. The following contains important information regarding student’s participation in the Summer School Ceremony:
Ceremony
The Summer School Ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 1:00 p.m.
Doors will open to parents and visitors at 12:00 noon
Location
Ridgeway HS
Students must arrive by 12:00 noon in required attire, including white cap and gown.
No food, drinks, balloons, or signs will be allowed into the building.
Important - Doors will close promptly at 1:00 p.m. for the start of the ceremony and re-open after the processional, posting of colors and National Anthem. Plan to arrive early to witness graduates as they enter.
After the ceremony, please meet graduates outside.
Rehearsal
The Rehearsal for the Summer School Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 25 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Location
Ridgeway HS
All students participating in the Summer Ceremony must be present at the Rehearsal to participate in the Ceremony.
Students will need a white cap and gown.
Students will receive their Ceremony tickets during rehearsal.
Cap and Gown
All students must have a white cap and gowns with a blue tassel to participate in the Ceremony.

To ensure safety and uniformity, students are not allowed to bedazzle caps, decorate, or alter the designated attire.
Students will pick up their cap and gown and tickets at rehearsal.
Tickets and Seating
The Summer School Office will provide five (5) tickets to ensure the number of guests does not exceed the seating capacity of the venue.
Tickets will be distributed at rehearsal.
Each person must have a ticket to enter the building this includes all children age 3 and up.
Everyone who will occupy a seat must have a ticket to enter.
Please adhere to the ticketing policy, as security will be strictly enforced.
Students' Attire/Dress code
Approved Dress Attire - The personal appearance of students may follow the style of the day; however, the wearing of overly tight, distracting, extreme, or inappropriate apparel is not permitted.
Black Pants, Tie White Dresses or Black Dresses

Expected Decorum
Signs, flowers, balloons, streamers, silly string, food, drink, open containers, horns, whistles, and other distracting devices are not permitted.
All guests should be seated during the ceremony.
Standing in aisles and along the walls is not allowed due to fire code violations.
During the ceremony, only school-approved photographers are permitted to take pictures near the stage (guests may take pictures from their seats. Please do not stand in the aisles or near the stage).
Vendors are not permitted inside the graduation venue.
Once Summer Seniors have entered the Senior Only Zone, there will be no exit and all cell phones, handbags or any additional items must be left with a relative.
General Safety Protocols
All state and local guidelines for facilities and programs will be strictly followed.
IMPORTANT
Student participation in the Summer School ceremony is NOT a guarantee that you have met all of the requirements for graduation. Students are allowed to participate based on the information that we were provided, but your HOME SCHOOL will be responsible for awarding students' diploma. Students/Parents will need to contact the home school regarding student's diploma.
