How to Enroll in Summer School:
Eligibility
Student must be active in PowerSchool.
Student must have a final MSCS Report Card for the 2022-2023 SY.
Student must be Pre-Qualified by MSCS School Counselor.
Pre-Qualification
All students must be pre-qualified by their Professional School Counselor (PSC). Students will be pre-qualified in May 2023. Counselors will contact parents by phone or email.
Registration
Students who have been pre-qualified by their PSC will be eligible to register in-person at the Summer School Sites.
Parent or legal guardian and student must be present to complete the registration process.
Parents will need their child's final report card or transcript for registration.
Space will be limited! If we reach student capacity, then students will be placed on a waitlist.
Orientation
All parents and students will complete orientation during registration at the Summer School Site.

Tues. June 6 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Wed. June 7 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Thurs. June 8 12:00 N - 6:00 PM
Fri. June 9 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Description:
This program is for students in grades 9-12 who FAILED ½ to 2 Credits.
Maximum of two (2) credits can be earned during the summer.
Courses Offered:
The following courses will be offered at ALL Summer Sites:
English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Bridge Math, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, U.S. History, World History, Spanish I, Spanish II
These courses will be offered ONLY at Overton HS
Applied Math Concepts, Lifetime Wellness, P.E., Personal Finance, U.S. Government, Economics, Visual Arts I
Lifetime/Wellness will also be offered at Whitehaven HS.
In-Person or Online Class Option:
- In-Person -Synchronous learning - Classes will be teacher-led and students will receive blended learning with classroom and online activities. Students will need their school year device to complete lessons and tests.
- Online - Asynchronous learning - Students will learn independently, without live instruction from a teacher. Students will have flexibility to complete Summer School coursework but must complete lessons and tests by the program deadline. Students will be assigned to a teacher for support. Students will need their school year device to complete lessons and tests.
- Registration – Parents must register in-person at Summer School Sites for both class options. The registration site will be the students Summer School Site.
- Report Card - Parents will need a copy of their child's final report card or transcript for registration.
