How to Enroll in Summer School:
Eligibility
MSCS student must be active in MSCS PowerSchool for the 2024-25 SY.
Student must have a final MSCS Report Card for the 2024-2025 SY.
Student must be Pre-Qualified by MSCS School Counselor.
Pre-Qualification
All students must be pre-qualified by their Professional School Counselor (PSC). Pre-qualification is TBA. Counselors will contact parents by phone or email.
Registration
Students who have been pre-qualified by their PSC will be eligible to register in-person at the Summer School Sites.
Parent or legal guardian and student must be present to complete the registration process.
Space will be limited! If we reach student capacity, then students will be placed on a waitlist.
Orientation
All parents and students will complete orientation during registration at the Summer School Site.

Thur. May 22 - Registration - Day 1 (Parent/Student hours 4:00 -7:00 PM
Fri. May 23 - Registration - Day 2 (Parent/Student hours 4:00 -7:00 PM
Sat. May 24 - Registration - Day 3 (Parent/Student hours 8:30-4:30 PM
Description:
Students in kindergarten, who have not mastered the required skills for Language Arts and Math and are recommended by their current school qualify for the Intervention program.
Students in grades 1, 2, 4, 5, who failed Language Arts and/or Math qualify for the Promotional program.
Courses Offered: Language Arts and Math (All students will take two (2) courses.)
In-Person or Online Class Option:
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.
Transportation: Transportation will be provided from student's current MSCS district managed school.
Cost: Free

- In-Person -Synchronous learning - Classes will be teacher-led and students will receive blended learning with classroom and online activities. Students will use a device to complete lessons and tests.
- Online - Asynchronous learning - Students will learn independently, without live instruction from a teacher. Students will have flexibility to complete Summer School coursework but must complete lessons and tests by the program deadline. Students will be assigned to a teacher for support. Students will need a device and internet access to complete lessons and tests.
- Registration – Parents must register in-person at Summer School Sites for both class options.
- Devices - MSCS students will use their current school year assigned 1:1 device from their home school for Summer School (in-person and online). Students will need to obtain these devices from their home school by the end of the school year (Friday, May 23). A student's account must be clear of outstanding device fines or holds. Parents will need to bring a copy of the signed Student Device Agreement for Summer School registration.

Description:
Over Age for Grade (OAG) Qualification -
- Student must currently be enrolled in a MSCS District Managed School in grade 4.
- Student was retained a prior School Year.
- Student passes this current School Year.
- Student will take 5th grade Language Arts and Math in the summer.
- If student is successful, the student will be promoted to the next MSCS grade level (6) in the fall.
- Example: Current 4th grade students will take 5th grade Language Arts and Math in Summer School.
